Artemis

Artemis is a Greek goddess of the hunt, known as Diana by the Romans. She is both hunter and protector to animals of the forest. The bear, deer, and stag are her sacred symbols, and hounds are often by her side. She watches over those giving birth, both women and animals. She also aids women who are fleeing from abusive men.

For example, Daphne was fleeing from Apollo, cried to Artemis for help, and was changed into a laurel tree. When Arethusa was fleeing from Alpheus, Artemis changed her into a brook. And swift runner Atalanta was transformed to a lioness.

Artemis is a great role model for Amazons, and all independent women . She runs free and does not allow anyone to violate her.
