Venus

Venus was the Roman goddess of love, beauty, and desire.

This Venus is derived from a figurine available from Sacred Source. That in turn was based on Sandro Botticelli's beautiful painting, "The Birth of Venus" completed in Florence, Italy in 1485. The original is 5.6 X 9ft! (172.5 x 278.5 cm). The Wind Gods have blown Venus to shore and a nymph stands by to cover her. Renaissance scholars described the birth of Venus as a divine message of how beauty came into the world.

This scan of Botticelli's painting is from Mark Harden's Artchive, a wonderful collection of hundreds of famous paintings from all periods. Please don't take this image for another website without giving a link to him.
